Pilot's Academy - SOLD OUT!

The Museum is pleased to announce our first annual Children's Pilot's Academy Summer Camp. The program is designed for children ages 8 to 12 and will run from August 15th to August 19th. Operated in conjunction with Discovery Place, the activities will include classes on paper airplane and glider construction, as well as talks by real pilots on the basic principals of flight and other interesting aviation topics.

The camp will be very hands-on, and campers will get to sit in real airplane cockpits, such as an F-4 Phantom jet fighter, and our KC-97L Air Force tanker. They will listen to airplanes talk with the Charlotte Air Traffic Control Tower, and watch airplanes take off and land on one of the airport's main runways.

Although the camp is currently sold out, please call Discovery Place to see if there are any cancellations.
